The gout condition is a common one, found all around the world with a deep history going back thousands of years. There are stories of people people getting cured from penetrating diseases in miraculous ways without the use of any common medicines that are found today.
It is a part of human nature that allows our minds to keep finding alternative and more affective ways along with ones medical science suggests.
One of these new miraculous non-medical beliefs is that cherries can be used to cure your gout problem. Does this really work? Let’s take a look…
Healing Gout with Cherries: The Beginning
It began in 1950 when a doctor himself, called Ludwig Blau, claimed that a daily dose of six to eight cherries helps to send your gout problem to it’s grave.
Just like all the other medical claims, this one also faced severe criticism and doubts that even included the validity of the physician’s credentials.
In spite of all the negative approaches, the idea itself was never totally rejected. Scientists and nutritionists have extended the research through time and found out that this smoke has a fire too, and probably one with goodness in it!
The Research Over The Years
Recently, the University of California-Davis has had a research of ten women by offering them a breakfast only of 45 cherries, and the results surely seem to take Dr. Ludwig Blau’s claim in a positive place.
The Agriculture Research Service with the United States Department of Agriculture have also made a study showing that a breakfast taken with only cherries results in a higher rate of uric acid execution from the body. The pre and post cherry-meal level of uric acid in blood presented a “yes” card for cherries to be effective in controlling the rise of uric acid.
Basically, what this means is that cherries low the risk of gout because gout usually begins when your body has an abundance of uric acid. This uric acid causing gout attacks the joints and causes immense pain.
Further Facts On Cherries
It has been found that cherries help to control a gout situation by three commendable tasks. They are:
- Cherries contain a natural enzyme that helps keeping the production of uric acid minimal and within the healthy body range.
- Cherries include a one-of-a-kind anti-oxidant that supports a higher rate of uric acid reduction from the body.
- Finally, cherries help collagen to keep the connective tissues of our bodies stronger which are the things that gout severely dents.
Food myths have always been a great matter of interest in human communities through time and places. When such a tale is related to health and pain-curing issues, it spreads like a flame.
Though many of those are just tales, having some cherries for a week or two to combat your gout is worth trying. After all, why wouldn’t you want to try something that has the chance to reduce pain in your body?
In the end, it’s up to you to decide what you want to do. There are no medications that can 100% cure your gout. The only way is through natural remedies that can be made at home from ingredients bought at your local grocery shop.
That’s what I had to do to finally beat my gout pain. What will you do?
